Practice Description:

Jean-Yves Steyt focuses in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, securities, joint ventures, shareholders agreements, commercial contracts and intellectual property law, including litigation and arbitration in these fields.

His practice includes advising both national and foreign companies on national and international investments, with a focus on Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, the United States, Spain, Portugal and Latin America, as well as on some specific countries in Africa and Asia. He has extensive connections in these regions.

Mr. Steyt is admitted to practice law in Belgium, the Netherlands and New York. He is also a Member of the American Bar Association.

Experience and Background:

Before Mr. Steyt started his career as an attorney in 2002, he worked for an international food company and in the European Parliament.

Internationally minded, he acquired his first law firm experiences at Berenguer Comas & Asociados (Barcelona) and at Luiz Gomez & Associados (Lisbon) in 2000. Thereafter, he worked several years as a senior associate at Dechert LLP (Brussels) and as a Partner at Van den Berg & Partners (Brussels/Amsterdam).

Mr. Steyt founded Euralex Group in 2015 and is acting as its Managing Partner.

Mr. Steyt has been involved in many national and international takeovers involving mayor companies. He also has extensive experience in commercial and intellectual property litigation.
